I ran my last one down to 1/8" tread (true story!) just to see how low it could go and still provide excellent traction (not adequate, fair, or good, or very good, but excellent!).

I was still wheelieing up the wet brick pavers on Walker's Muddled Meanderings. So the new replacement sat in the garage for months because the old one wasn't ready to retire yet (no pun intended). I finally replaced because it looked embarrassing.

I'm luvin' it.

MSR HP Ultra Heavy Duty @ 8-9 psi. Of course bump 'er up a few punds for the few times I've done any pavement. Apparently, the Pirelli has a stiffer side wall wich makes it the trials tire of choice for the enduros. I've not heard any enduro rider complain about their Pirelli, but I have about a Dunlop.

I do want to get something different for the front, though. The Michelin S12 is great for Walker Valley but chunks easily after a day of asphalt and I want to do more riding from the house these days.

For those of you out of the area that may not know Walker Valley ORV park, it's very rocky, rooty, rutted and generally over ridden, so the trials tire works really well there. IMHO, BEST. There are steep hills that would get washed out by rain and traffic so they have put ecology block brick pavers on certain hills including hairpin corners. We rode all thru the winter in the rain and the trials tires were awesome on the wet rocks and roots, and pavers, and a heckuva lot better in the mud than you would think.

EnduroGuy Tom, you know the corners on Meanderings that I'm talking about. After almost a year of great cornering on those tight uphill brick paverred hairpins on the Pirelli in all conditions, I spun out on them dry while on my knobby last week. Twice. My trials tire was back on the next day.

I hear ya on the MT-43 T-Low Tom, I run one on my 200exc with 6lbs and a Neutech Tubliss. When the D606 is gone on my 530 I think it will be replaced with the MT-43 as well. I cant even count how many times I have motored right by spinning knobbies on those pavers you mentioned.
