I installed the DT unit in my 08 530 and 09 450 exc. I noticed that there is a new part number for the 2010, 2011 models not sure what the difference is. The DT unit eliminated the rattle I would get on start up and when chopping the throttle on ours. If I had a 2010 or 2011 I would probably go ahead and install the DT unit just for peace of mind. It seems to be a better design. Might ask over on ktmtalk. Hope this helps.

Hey if you get one please post a review of your thoughts. I will have to listen more closely at startup next time on my bike.

I got one because Hodakaguy pretty much said 'do it' and he is the man for the big KTM bikes. DirtTricks is out of them until Friday, the part number difference is only for a 350 or some such KTM

Hey have you installed it yet. I watched the install video and it said to check the manual to see if the engine needs to be at TDC. I have not looked does the 530 have this requirement or can you just R&R?

Not yet. Instructions say TDC not needed on 450 & 530 models.

I just ordered one and a Turn Tech 5A battery as my stock battery is weak. This should get me ready for the summer.
I did some reading up on the DJH1200-OR www.djhcyclesport.com cam tensioner also (looks like a good product). I went with the Dirt Tricks for two reasons. 1. No chance for oil to leak past the screw threads on adjstment screw 2. Do not have to check adjustment.

Ok just installed the Dirt Tricks tensioner. Only issue I had was it said it should insert with only little bit sticking out in colapsed position. The problem was the darn thing does not stay pushed in you have to slide cap over end and thread it in. I did this a couple of times to make sure that it some how was not being extended (stayed in colapsed position). Installed the Turn Tech battery and bike fired right up and did not hear any tensioner noise.
The Turn Tech battery is a nice fit. We shall see how well it lasts. It was nice to shed some more weight .
